I’ve watched too many strong business owners get filtered out by requirements they never saw coming. Jobber Grants is one of those programs where the official page tells you the basics, but the real eligibility filter sits in a LinkedIn video from their Director of Community and a PDF you have to hunt for. This page is my attempt to pull all those pieces into one place. You’ll find the exact questions the eligibility tool asks, why each one matters, and – if you hit a snag – a clear path forward. The goal isn’t just to tell you yes or no. It’s to make sure you don’t waste hours on an application that was never going to work, or worse, skip one that could have been yours.

Who this grant is really for

Jobber isn’t funding general small businesses. They’re funding people who show up with trucks and tools. Landscapers. Plumbers. Electricians. Cleaners. HVAC technicians. Roofers. Tree trimmers. Mobile detailers. If your business is retail, e‑commerce, or purely online, you’re out. If you operate in Quebec, you’re out – no exceptions. If you’re 17, wait two years. These are the hard gates.

The community membership that trips up most applicants

The biggest reason people get rejected isn’t their business plan. It’s the Home Service Community Forum. You must be a member at the time you submit Phase One. And membership isn’t enough. The Director of Community made it clear: good standing means active participation (posts, helpful responses) for at least 30 days before the deadline. If you join on June 10 and submit on June 11, you’re disqualified. No appeal. That’s the kind of detail that never makes it to the main page.

What happens after the eligibility checker

The eligibility tool above runs you through all these gates in about 30 seconds. If it says you qualify, don’t rush to the donor site. That’s where the real work begins. Our team can review your community standing, help you craft the 500‑word business plan and 300‑word category explanation that judges actually care about, and make sure you don’t miss the tight Phase Two window.

Still unsure about your fit?

If your business straddles the line between retail and service, or if you’re not sure your forum activity qualifies as “good standing,” that’s exactly what our live consultations are for. You can talk to a grant expert one‑on‑one, review your specific situation, and decide whether this is worth your time. Book a 1‑on‑1 video or phone call – we’ll walk through it together.
