Sign in to save this grantSkip’s $1,000 Instant Grants are running right now, with live drawings twice every week, and the program has logged more than 194 numbered sessions since it launched. Over $1 million paid out across 800+ winning businesses in 2025 alone. That track record is public and numbered – you can look up every drawing. But the figure everyone sees in the name is not what every winner receives. Look at latest drawings: the same session that paid $1,000 to a bookkeeping firm in Canal Winchester also paid $800 to a music business in Burbank and $700 to a hair salon in Keene. Three winners from one drawing. Three different amounts.

The award scales from $200 to $1,000 based on how completely you have built out your business profile inside the Skip platform – and most people entering do not know this before their first drawing.
Grantaura’s eligibility tool evaluates the specific gates that matter for this program – particularly the 4-month win frequency limit and account status questions that trip up returning applicants. It is not a generic checklist; it is built around the real edge cases we see with this program.
Eligible? The most useful next step is a review of your Skip profile before the next drawing – because your profile completeness is what determines whether you win $200 or $1,000. Use the button below to start full application submission and our team will look at where the score gaps are.
If the result is unsure – maybe you won recently and are not certain whether the 4-month window has cleared – a live 1-on-1 video or phone call with a grant expert will resolve that faster than guessing through the fine print. Ineligible? The More Programs section lower on this page has alternatives built for the same audience and award range.
Skip calls this the “$1,000 Instant Grants” program. That is the ceiling.
Your actual award, if your name comes up in a drawing, is determined by a business progress score that reflects how fully you have documented your business inside the Skip platform. Skip has not published a breakdown of every factor that contributes to the score, but the winner records across hundreds of drawings make the pattern legible: profiles with more completed fields and documented business activity trend toward the maximum. Incomplete profiles consistently land at the lower end of the range. A counseling practice in Saint Ann won $900 in drawing #194. A hair extensions business in Keene won $700 in the same session. That gap is not random – it tracks with profile depth.
The answers you submit when entering also get stored in the Grants Vault, which means they carry forward into every other Skip grant application you make. Treating the profile seriously before your first entry does two things at once: it raises your award ceiling in the Instant Grant drawings, and it lays the groundwork for larger programs on the same platform.
Your business progress score locks in at the time you check in for a drawing. Completing additional profile sections after the entry window closes does not affect your potential award for that session. Finish what you can before the 30-minute check-in window opens.
If you read about this program on Skip’s September 2024 blog post, or on most third-party roundup pages, the entry mechanic you encountered is no longer accurate. The old system required you to watch the YouTube livestream and type a PIN code into the YouTube chat within 60 seconds of your name being called. That process was retired in December 2025.
Here is how entry works now. Before each drawing, Skip opens a 30-minute check-in window through the Skip Dashboard and mobile app. You log in and check in during that window. If your entry is selected during the live drawing, you get a notification and have 60 seconds to click the “Claim Now” button on Skip’s platform – not in YouTube chat. The drawing still happens live on YouTube, but the claiming action moved entirely to Skip’s own interface. Miss the Claim Now window and that drawing is gone. Your entry does not roll over to the next session.
Drawings happen every Tuesday and Friday at 3pm Eastern. Typically 5 to 10 winners are selected per session. Each drawing alternates between cash rounds and credit rounds – cash rounds pay out via Stripe and credit rounds apply Skip platform credit to the winner’s account. If you are entering primarily for cash, it is worth tracking which type of round is scheduled next.
Q: I checked in but missed the Claim Now notification. Did I lose it?
A: Yes, for that drawing. The 60-second window is firm. Setting up real-time notifications on the Skip app before the drawing starts is the only reliable way to catch the prompt. I have seen the same claim-window friction documented in another live-claim program we have covered – it is consistently the most common pain point for participants who were technically eligible but lost the award because the notification caught them off guard.
Skepticism about this program is common, and not entirely unreasonable. Skip started as a DMV-concierge service, and some of the negative platform reviews in circulation are from that earlier product – a different offering entirely. The Instant Grant program is a different thing: public, numbered, and verifiable.
The winner archive is live and detailed. Drawing #192 through #194 produced wins for a counseling practice in Saint Ann, Missouri; a hair salon in Keene, New Hampshire; a bookkeeping firm in Canal Winchester, Ohio; a home care company in New York City; a beauty business in Dallas; and a music business in Burbank, California. No industry concentration. No revenue pattern. No thread connecting them beyond a Skip account and a completed profile. The program’s Trustpilot rating sits at 4.6, and the numbered drawing archive now runs past 194 sessions – each with individual winner names, business types, cities, and award amounts visible. That is the kind of transparency that is hard to fake at scale.
Skip’s eligibility requirements are genuinely low. You need to be 18 or older, based in the US or US territories, have a free Skip account, and not have won a Skip Instant Grant in the past 4 months. No revenue threshold. No employee count. No formal business registration. An idea at the pre-launch stage qualifies exactly the same as a running operation.
Almost no external listing covers this. Each live drawing contains a secondary prize mechanic: when the YouTube stream hits a set engagement milestone – for example, 1,000 likes during the broadcast – Skip awards an additional $500 to $1,000 to a randomly selected live participant. This is separate from the main drawing. It specifically rewards people who are watching the live stream rather than just checking in beforehand and closing the app. Whether the milestone triggers in any given session is variable, but for anyone planning to be present anyway, it represents real additional upside that does not require a separate entry.
Q: Do I need to watch the YouTube live to enter?
A: Not to enter the main drawing. The check-in step happens through the Skip Dashboard or app during the 30-minute window before the broadcast. But the Bonus Round – an extra $500 to $1,000 that triggers when the stream hits a like milestone – goes to a random live participant. Being present during the stream gives you access to that second win mechanic without any additional steps.
Every answer you submit when entering a Skip Instant Grant gets stored in the Grants Vault and carries forward into other applications on the platform. The Skip $10K Growth Grants draw on the same profile data – and unlike the Instant Grant, that program is competitive and evaluated. The work you put into your Instant Grant profile is not siloed. It populates the same foundation you would need for the higher-value applications.
Worth being clear: these are distinct programs. The Instant Grant is randomized – a sweepstakes, not a scored application. The $10K program involves real evaluation. But both use the same underlying profile, so getting serious about your Instant Grant setup is not a separate task from preparing for anything else Skip offers.
Q: Do I really have to be present at the live stream to win the full amount?
A: Yes, for the full award. The claim window requires you to click “Claim Now” within 60 seconds of selection – and that notification comes through the Skip platform in real time. Some earlier versions of the program documented a “Grants Lock” backup feature that paid a partial amount if you missed the live, but the status of that feature after the December 2025 mechanic update is unconfirmed. Do not plan your entry strategy around it.
Q: Is there a cost to enter?
A: Creating a Skip account costs nothing. The drawings require a free account only. Skip offers paid membership tiers, but none of them are required to participate in the Instant Grant program.
Q: If I win the cash option, do I have to file a W-9?
A: Yes. Cash winners go through Stripe onboarding and submit a W-9 within 1 to 2 business days of winning. If you prefer to skip the tax documentation process, credit round wins apply Skip platform credit directly to your account without requiring a W-9.
Q: How often can I enter?
A: There are typically two drawings per week – Tuesday and Friday at 3pm Eastern. You can check in for both. The 4-month limit only activates after a win, not during general participation. Between wins, there is no cap on how many drawings you enter.
Q: Can someone else manage the entry on my behalf?
A: The check-in and Claim Now steps require your own Skip account in real time. Third-party entry is explicitly prohibited – the account holder must be the one logging in and claiming.
Q: Is this program actually legitimate?
A: The winner archive is publicly numbered past 194 sessions, with individual business names, locations, and award amounts listed for each drawing. The program has a 4.6 rating on Trustpilot. Some negative impressions of Skip in circulation trace back to the company’s earlier DMV-concierge product – a different offering entirely. The Instant Grant has paid out over $1 million to 800+ businesses in 2025. You can watch the drawing replays on YouTube and see the claim moments yourself.
The Skip Instant Grant is one of the lowest-barrier entry points in small business funding – no pitch, no narrative, no revenue threshold. If the 4-month win limit means you need an alternative path right now, or if you want to compare what else is open at the same effort level, browse the full Grantaura database for programs matched to your stage and business type. The Sky’s the Limit grant is one example in a similar recurring micro-grant category worth looking at alongside this one.
The business progress score is the variable this listing keeps returning to – and for good reason. What the listing cannot assess is whether your specific Skip profile is sitting at $400 or $900 right now, or which fields are silently pulling your score below the maximum. That gap is where the review work happens.
Two things bring applicants to us on this program specifically. The first: the profile score question. Most people do not know their current score or which sections of their profile are incomplete before entering. We go through the profile fields that contribute to the score and flag what to complete before the next drawing check-in. The second: win-date tracking. If you have won before and are unsure whether your 4-month window has cleared – or if you want to map your entry cadence against future drawing dates – that is the kind of session-by-session planning the listing cannot do for you.
Review your Skip profile before the next drawing
We check the profile sections that determine your award ceiling and tell you exactly what to complete – before you enter, not after you win $300 less than your profile could have earned.
Because the entry portal is Skip’s own custom Dashboard rather than a standard form, the preparation work sits in the profile itself – not in the 30-second check-in. That distinction shapes how we approach the review: we focus on the fields that move the score, not the mechanics of submitting the entry. Pricing details appear inside the application submission intake modal before any payment step.
I run Grantaura and spend most of my time building out listings for programs where the public information is either wrong, outdated, or missing the details that actually change outcomes. The Skip Instant Grant is a clear example – most content still describes the old YouTube PIN mechanic from 2024, and almost nothing outside the official Help Center explains that the award scales based on your profile score. I built this listing specifically to close those gaps. If you want to see more of the work, my profile has the full background, and if you want to talk through your funding situation directly, consultations are available.
