About: The Young Talents Italy – L’Oréal Italia UNESCO for Women in Science program aims to empower and support talented women in various scientific fields. This initiative recognizes and rewards exceptional women scientists who are making significant contributions to their respective fields. The program provides financial support and recognition to encourage and promote scientific research and innovation.
The 2025 edition of the program is now open for applications, inviting individuals excelling in Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Computer and Information Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Technologies. While applicants do not need to be currently working or studying in Italy, the winning candidates must conduct their projects in an Italian Institute. The program offers six awards, each worth €20,000, to outstanding candidates who demonstrate excellent academic and research records, have peer-reviewed scientific publications, and possess a strong ability to promote and communicate science to younger generations.
The Young Talents Italy program has been supporting women in science since its initial launch in 2002. Over the years, it has awarded 118 endowments, fostering a community of talented women scientists and encouraging them to pursue their scientific careers. The program is part of the broader L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science initiative, which includes international awards and national and regional programs around the world.

-Women scientists working in or studying Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Computer and Information Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Technologies
-Applicants do not need to be based in Italy

-Peer-reviewed scientific publications
