About: The Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Self-Employment Track offers support to veterans or service members with service-connected disabilities who face employment barriers and have a strong interest in starting their own business. Eligible individuals receive guidance in business planning, small-business training, and assistance in obtaining resources to establish their businesses. Participants work with a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) to develop a business plan that the VA evaluates for viability. The program also offers additional VR&E employment programs, including hands-on work experiences, special incentives for employers, and access to employment coordinators. Eligibility extends to those with service-connected disabilities impacting their ability to secure or maintain suitable employment.
