About Funding

Donor: Black Girl Ventures Foundation

About: The Black Girl Ventures (BGV) Pitch Program is a transformative initiative designed to empower Black and Brown women entrepreneurs by providing them with a unique platform to pitch their businesses and secure funding through a live, crowdfunded competition. This program is part of BGV’s broader mission to offer access to community, capital, and capacity building, thereby fostering economic advancement through entrepreneurship.

The BGV Pitch Program stands out for its innovative approach to democratizing funding. It combines traditional pitching with crowdfunding, allowing the audience to vote with their dollars for the founders they believe in the most. This not only creates a dynamic and engaging environment but also ensures that funding decisions are influenced by community support. During the program, participants engage in coaching sessions, pitch practices, and receive feedback on their pitch decks, all aimed at honing their skills and preparing them for the competition and beyond.
Participants receive more than just a chance to win funding; they gain access to a supportive community, professional networks, and ongoing resources through the BGV Alumni program. This holistic approach ensures that entrepreneurs are well-equipped to navigate their entrepreneurial journey successfully.

The BGV Pitch Program is open to early-stage, revenue-generating businesses with under $1 million in revenue. This focus on early-stage businesses underscores BGV’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs at the critical stages of their development, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to grow and thrive.

Whether you’re a seasoned pitcher or new to the game, the BGV Pitch Program offers an invaluable opportunity to showcase your business, connect with investors, and join a thriving community of entrepreneurs. With its focus on inclusivity, community engagement, and holistic support, the BGV Pitch Program is more than just a competition—it’s a launchpad for the next generation of successful women entrepreneurs.
