About: The Sustainable Food Systems Initiative (SFSI) promotes sustainable food systems in the U.S. and Canada through actionable, community-based projects. For the 2025–2027 cycle, eight grants will be awarded to transdisciplinary teams focusing on health, agriculture, and food systems. Grantees will receive $50,000 per project, with an additional $10,000 for a standout communications plan. The initiative emphasizes food as medicine, community health, and agricultural practices. The SFSI Focus on Food program, co-funded by FFAR, provides three of the eight grants specifically for innovative projects in agricultural communities.
